Main Street Zephyrhills Annual Halloween Howl

Every year Main Street Zephyrhills, Inc. hosts their annual Halloween Howl event which is 5 hours chock-full of fun…and FRIGHT, if you dare enter our haunted house! The event is free to attend and features safe Trick-or-Treating from all the vendors and downtown shops, a really scary Haunted House, Hay Ride (gets scary after dark), Costume Parade, tons of Bounce Houses, Pony Rides & Petting Zoo, Carnival Games, free entertainment at the band stage, and more!

Costume Parade: 6 p.m. [Free]

Any children wishing to participate, please line-up on 5th Avenue (near 9th St) in front of the 7-11 store and be ready to march west for two blocks (to 7th Street) showing off your cool costumes to the crowd.

Haunted House: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. [$3 per person, per entry]

The theme of our haunted house at Halloween Howl this year is Zombie Carnival and will cost $3 per person, per entry. The haunted house will take place inside the historic, multi-level home of city founder, Captain H.B. Jeffries, located at 38533 5th Avenue which is within the overall event perimeter. An event map will be posted as we get closer to the event. It has been rumored that the house is haunted by the ghost of Captain Jeffries and apparently, like everyone else we know, he HATES CLOWNS. And if YOU dare enter our Zombie Carnival Haunted House, you will NEVER. TRUST. A. CLOWN. AGAIN. Just sayin’! 🙂

Hay Ride: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. [$2 per person, per ride]

West Zephyrhills Elementary School Lighthouse Team will be the featured organization this year coordinating, operating and benefiting from the majority of the proceeds of the hay ride. As in the past, you will pay for and board the hay ride on the property right next to the Woman’s Club of Zephyrhills across from 7-11. We will post an event layout map closer to the event. The WZES Lighthouse Team is working on getting 3 tractors and trailers this year to meet the high demand. After dark, the hay ride becomes scary with costumed actors hiding in places you least suspect along the route. If you have little ones who might be afraid, be sure to take them on the hay ride before dark.

Be sure to check out our event page on our website found here or our Facebook event page here for we will post more details as we know them.

NEW this year: The Zephyrhills First United Methodist Church which is located within the Halloween Howl event perimeter (along with new partner, St. Joseph Catholic Church) will be hosting their annual Halloween Trunk or Treat the same day starting at 6 p.m. So, in addition to Trick or Treating at all the Halloween Howl vendors and shops, the kids will be able to head over to the FUMC parking lot between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to “Trunk or Treat” with members of the two churches. See more details below.

The OneBlood Bloodmobile will be here to SUCK YOUR BLOOD during Halloween Howl. Take a few minutes out of your evening to donate a pint of blood. Appointments are not required but, for your convenience, you can schedule one in advance by clicking here. All donors will receive a limited edition Halloween T-Shirt and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening. You’ll also receive the benefit of knowing you helped save a life.

Bicycle Giveaway: 8:30 p.m. [Free]

We will be giving away two children’s bicycles at the event. Parents, be sure to stop by the Main Street Zephyrhills booth (spot #44 on the event map found here) to complete a quick survey about the event and get a free raffle ticket for each age-appropriate child to win one of two bikes. The actual bikes are pictured in our Facebook Event found here. Child must be present to win. Drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the band stand.

If you have questions about Halloween Howl, contact Main Street Zephyrhills at (813) 780-1414.

Abbott Station Restaurant

Zephyritaville Abbott Station Restaurant Zephyrhills

In the mood for some Pan-Seared Sea Scallops, Truffle Oil French Fries or Certified Angus Beef cooked to perfection? If so, come travel back in time to the charming Abbott Station Restaurant, an “American Casual” restaurant housed in the historic Trottman Residence at 5327 Gall Blvd near the intersection of Gall Blvd (US Hwy 301) & 5th Ave in Zephyrhills, Florida. The owners, Chef Jeff and Kristin Meserve, are committed to ensuring your culinary experience in the City of Pure Water is a terrific one.

We are anxiously awaiting to hear what Chef Jeff has up his sleeve for Zephyritaville. Hopefully it’s his mouth-watering, honest-to-goodness, nothing-better-in-this-world, Mojo Pork Sliders because, frankly, everybody should experience those at least once in their life. Um…once a WEEK (at least!), is more like it.

No matter what you choose from the menu at Abbott Station Restaurant, you can bet it will be made fresh and with the finest ingredients. Don’t forget to save room for their delicious homemade desserts! Kafe Kokopelli

Kafe Kokopelli Dade City FL Zephyritaville

For 20 years, Kafe Kokopelli has been a landmark in Dade City and a unique dining destination for folks all around the Tampa Bay area. The restaurant is housed in a more than century-old former Model T Ford dealership and is now covered in ivy on the outside and filled with eclectic decor on the inside. If you’re looking for both atmosphere and delicious, modern American cuisine that includes everything from the famous She Crab Bisque introduced by previous owners, Glen & Gail Greenfelder, to hardy, gourmet salads, delicious Roasted Prime Rib, and tender Chicken Marsala, you need to check out Kafe Kokopelli.

Chef Steven Queen, Jr., a culinary arts graduate of Johnson & Wales University, was chef to several luxury resorts and fine dining restaurants in both Miami and Washington D.C. before deciding to buy Kafe Kokopelli with his father, Steven Queen, Sr., in November 2013. Chef Steven has added his twist on some of the favorite recipes he vowed to keep on the menu while introducing new seasonal recipes sure to please your palate. You can check out the current menu here.

Chef Steven is excited to be a part of Tasting Away in Zephyritaville. He will be cooking on site and will serve up his award-winning Lump Crab Cakes along with a taste of fresh-grilled New York Strip Steak. But wait…there’s more! If you like your martinis shaken and not stirred, you’ll be in luck as Kafe Kokopelli will be serving up some delicious, flavored martinis as part of their offering at the event. Yes, please! They’re also working on a special offer to extend to Zephyritaville event attendees for a visit to the restaurant.

The Garden Cafe

The Garden Cafe and Catering Dade City FL Zephyritaville Participant

The Garden Cafe is located in the heart of Dade City, Florida and is popular with both the locals doing business in our county seat and shoppers seeking respite from bargain hunting in the quaint downtown district. On the menu you can find original recipes for everything from classic comfort foods like savory soups and sandwiches to healthy salads and wraps to mouth-watering homemade desserts. Three words: Cinnamon Bread Pudding. Okay, three more words: Oh my goodness!

We are delighted The Garden Cafe Dade City has decided to participate in Zephyritaville. If you attend the event you’ll get to sample their delicious Tomato Basil Soup, the Garden Tomato Cheese Grill (smoked Gouda cheese oozing from a crisp, buttery sandwich, thick with summer tomatoes & pesto), and one of their classic side dishes–the rice and black bean salad. Like us, The Garden Cafe loves to promote shopping local and so event attendees will leave with a voucher encouraging them to shop local and return to The Garden Cafe with a receipt from an independently owned shop to receive a beverage of their choice with meal purchase.

The Garden Cafe also offers full service catering for your special occasion or corporate event. To see more of what’s on the menu at The Garden Cafe Dade City, check out their website here. Zephyritaville Local Public House San Antonio FL

Having just recently celebrated their first anniversary, we are delighted to have Local Public House & Provisions participate in our Tasting Away in Zephyritaville event. Located in the century-old former general store in the heart of downtown San Antonio, Local Public House is not your typical pub experience. Curtis and Rebecca Beebe, the husband and wife team who opened Pearl in the Grove in 2010, apply their same principles from The Pearl to this most recent venture. You’ll find fresh pasture-fed beef, locally grown vegetables and brioche buns from Ybor City. Let’s not forget the 12+ local craft beers on tap. You’ll also find a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating and often live music on the weekends.

A fresh bayou classic–Red Beans & Rice with optional Andouille Sausage–will be Local’s offering at Zephyritaville. The sausage is made fresh just for Local from Palmetto Creek Farms in Avon Park. We hope you’ll be there to enjoy it!
