Every year at Main Street Zephyrhills we receive numerous calls inquiring about the many fall festival and Halloween-related events in and around Zephyrhills. We are also asked–especially when Halloween falls on a weekday when Trick or Treating will take place. Trick or Treating is always on Halloween (October 31) no matter what day of the week it falls. Of course the Main Street Zephyrhills, Inc. annual Halloween Howl event is always a huge hit and THE PLACE TO BE for safe Trick-or-Treating and lots of other fun but there are also other organizations that offer fall events for the whole family and so we’ve rounded up some details for you in this post.

Main Street Zephyrhills Annual Halloween Howl
Every year Main Street Zephyrhills, Inc. hosts their annual Halloween Howl event which is 5 hours chock-full of fun…and FRIGHT, if you dare enter our haunted house! The event is free to attend and features safe Trick-or-Treating from all the vendors and downtown shops, a really scary Haunted House, Hay Ride (gets scary after dark), Costume Parade, tons of Bounce Houses, Pony Rides & Petting Zoo, Carnival Games, free entertainment at the band stage, and more!
Costume Parade: 6 p.m. [Free]
Any children wishing to participate, please line-up on 5th Avenue (near 9th St) in front of the 7-11 store and be ready to march west for two blocks (to 7th Street) showing off your cool costumes to the crowd.
Haunted House: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. [$3 per person, per entry]
The theme of our haunted house at Halloween Howl this year is Zombie Carnival and will cost $3 per person, per entry. The haunted house will take place inside the historic, multi-level home of city founder, Captain H.B. Jeffries, located at 38533 5th Avenue which is within the overall event perimeter. An event map will be posted as we get closer to the event. It has been rumored that the house is haunted by the ghost of Captain Jeffries and apparently, like everyone else we know, he HATES CLOWNS. And if YOU dare enter our Zombie Carnival Haunted House, you will NEVER. TRUST. A. CLOWN. AGAIN. Just sayin’! 🙂
Hay Ride: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. [$2 per person, per ride]
West Zephyrhills Elementary School Lighthouse Team will be the featured organization this year coordinating, operating and benefiting from the majority of the proceeds of the hay ride. As in the past, you will pay for and board the hay ride on the property right next to the Woman’s Club of Zephyrhills across from 7-11. We will post an event layout map closer to the event. The WZES Lighthouse Team is working on getting 3 tractors and trailers this year to meet the high demand. After dark, the hay ride becomes scary with costumed actors hiding in places you least suspect along the route. If you have little ones who might be afraid, be sure to take them on the hay ride before dark.
Be sure to check out our event page on our website found here or our Facebook event page here for we will post more details as we know them.
NEW this year: The Zephyrhills First United Methodist Church which is located within the Halloween Howl event perimeter (along with new partner, St. Joseph Catholic Church) will be hosting their annual Halloween Trunk or Treat the same day starting at 6 p.m. So, in addition to Trick or Treating at all the Halloween Howl vendors and shops, the kids will be able to head over to the FUMC parking lot between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to “Trunk or Treat” with members of the two churches. See more details below.
The OneBlood Bloodmobile will be here to SUCK YOUR BLOOD during Halloween Howl. Take a few minutes out of your evening to donate a pint of blood. Appointments are not required but, for your convenience, you can schedule one in advance by clicking here. All donors will receive a limited edition Halloween T-Shirt and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening. You’ll also receive the benefit of knowing you helped save a life.
Bicycle Giveaway: 8:30 p.m. [Free]
We will be giving away two children’s bicycles at the event. Parents, be sure to stop by the Main Street Zephyrhills booth (spot #44 on the event map found here) to complete a quick survey about the event and get a free raffle ticket for each age-appropriate child to win one of two bikes. The actual bikes are pictured in our Facebook Event found here. Child must be present to win. Drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the band stand.
